Throughout all three of the pieces in this project, there is a bird. This bird was from a carving that I created prior to the digital paintings and has been manipulated to fit into the works. Using a layer of digital brush strokes I blended the photoshopped bird into the landscapes.

 

With this series of paintings the bird “travels” across time and space into these abandoned places.

 

Each environment depicts a man-made space that has since started to deteriorate due to the lack of upkeep. I wanted to show how without the interference of man, nature will persevere and reclaim everything.
